About Me

Artist Statement
Through my art, I am observing the world around me, my interactions and relationships with those around me and most importantly with myself. I want to capture fleeting moments that many of us forget or maybe take for granted, I want viewers to pause in time with me and hopefully conjure feelings of connection with oneself as well as those around us. With the use of gouache, I want to capture the inner workings of my mind and how I view self, purpose, and the universe. I'm interested in using my art to showcase and explore my identity while touching on themes of spirituality, self-love, and hope.
Artist Bio
Ro Alvarez is a student that is attending Pasadena City College to obtain an Associates degree in Studio Arts, to then transfer to obtain their BFA in Illustration. Ro is interested in a career that focuses on storytelling using colorful illustrations to evoke heartfelt introspection.
