Reflected Glow
Reflected Glow is a piece inspired by the movie I Saw the Tv Glow. I wanted this piece to encapsulate who I am as a person and the struggles I’ve faced and aspects of my life that are apart of my identity. I have gone through changes in my spirituality, gender expression, sexuality, and my individuality and how I want to be viewed in the world. With the analogous color palette, I wanted to evoke a sense nostolgia or reflection on my life that many others might feel as well. Placing my room setting in a television, I also wanted to touch on mental illness and feeling out of place or out of body, making it hard at times navigating through life. Reflected Glow is a piece that holds various themes that I think everyone can relate to in some way or another and can further show where we come from and how it shapes us, our perspective on the world around us, and how we are viewed as individuals.
